Getting Ready for WIDA ACCESS Testing, January 13 – February 28, 2020
Your test administrators must have completed training and passed the quiz at 80% or higher for certification within 24 months of the date they are administering a test.
Notify families about the upcoming test administration with the letter template found
here. Tips for preparing students for WIDA ACCESS testing can be found here.
WIDA materials are expected to arrive at schools on Monday, January 6, 2020. If additional materials are needed, the ordering window is open January 6 to February 24, 2020.
Paper test materials must be postmarked by the return of materials deadline, February 28, 2020, in order to be processed for scoring.
Informational Text Resources to Share with Teachers
Elementary students will enjoy researching with DK FindOut's online encyclopedia that includes highly visual content, or Wonderopolis, a website that answers an intriguing question each day to encourage learners to be more curious about the world.
Students of all ages enjoy reading about current events at DoGo News. Readworks provides engaging reading passages for K-12 students with an emphasis on improving reading comprehension and supporting students who need assistance.

The Indiana Department of Education's School Improvement Resource Hub offers a variety of resources on the following topics: Effective Leadership, Collaborative Teachers, Ambitious Instruction, Supportive School Environments, Involved Families, and Culturally Responsive Schools.
New College Scorecard Released
The U.S. Department of Education has recently updated the College Scorecard. This resource helps families search and compare post-secondary education opportunities (graduation rates, programs offered, costs to attend) and find information about their field of study (career earnings data, requirements.) The scorecard includes information on two-year programs, four-year degrees, certificate programs, apprenticeships, and graduate programs.
