Dear SHMS Families:
It is hard to believe that our first month of school is already over. We are so appreciative of our Haven families for your support to make the start of the school year successful. Most importantly, we have to thank our students for showing their Panther Pride every day. Our Panther Pride Matrix asks students to Stay Safe, Stay Responsible, Stay Respectful, and Stay Kind. Overall, our student body is meeting these expectations. We are fortunate to have such amazing students.
We had another busy week at SHMS. Fall sports competitions started this week. I had the opportunity to watch girls’ soccer yesterday. I encourage everyone to come out and support all of our school teams. The link to sports schedules can be found on our webpage in the Find it Fast section or you can click this LINK to access schedules. You will need to click on the name of the team to access their schedule.
The clubs and activities catalog has been updated and posted on our website. Please go to the Clubs and Activities tab or use this Link to access the page. The catalog can be found in the middle of the page using the 2021-2022 Club/Activities Offerings link. We encourage all students to get involved. Students should listen to announcements for club meeting times or look at the televisions throughout our school.
We had our first fire drill this week. Both staff and students did a great job exiting the building. Students used the appropriate voice level and were safe and orderly during the drill. We will continue to work on safety procedures throughout October.
I would like to congratulate the middle school band for a great performance at last week’s football game. Our students did a great job representing SHMS in front of a very large crowd.
Go Panthers!
