Welcome Back!
Grade 2/3 with Ms. C!
Dear Parents/Guardians,
I am so excited to welcome you to the 2015-2016 school year! I am looking forward to getting to know your child and developing a productive partnership with you to ensure our children can reach their highest potential!
I will be using this website as means of communication as to what is going on in our classroom! I will be able to share pictures and videos, and provide regular updates about what your child is learning, important events happening at Cornell Village Public School, as well as information about homework assignments and upcoming quizzes or tests!
Some paperwork will be sent home with your child this week to gather some information about their likes/dislikes, strengths/weaknesses and goals you would like to see them reach this year. I will also be sending home an information page for you to fill out and return so I have current information as to how to best contact you.
This first week back will be about getting to know each other and getting to know our classroom. We will be formulating rules and expectations as a class as I love to seek my students input! It is their classroom just as much as it is mine! We will get to know our routines, classroom jobs, weekly schedule, and discuss what it looks like, sounds like, and feels like to be a good student, peer, and member of a school community.
Please check this blog often as I will be doing my best to update it regularly!
I cannot wait to get started with your children this school year! I look forward to meeting you and thank you for your support!
Sincerely,
Ms. Ciardulli
All About Me!
Who is Ms.Ciardulli??
My name is Andrea Ciardulli and I am THRILLED that I will be teaching your children this school year.
This is my first time teaching at Cornell Village Public School but I have been a teacher with York Region Board for three years and I have been involved in educational related jobs and past times since I was 16 years old. I have worked as a camp counsellor, a student mentor, a private tutor, a private music teacher, a daycare employee, a supply teacher, and now a classroom teacher, and I LOVE every minute of it!
Teaching is not just a career to me, it's a passion, and I believe I showcase that through the way I design my learning program, the diverse activities I offer my students, the warmth of the environment I help to create in my classroom, and the meaningful connections I make with my students.
Last year I had the pleasure of teaching a Grade 1 class so I look forward to a new challenge this year! I was just recently hired by Principal Hudson and Vice Principal Richards, so the classroom still needs LOTS more decorating, but as soon as it is up to my standards I will be sure to share pictures of the wonderful environment your children will be a part of.
A little about me personally....
I play the piano and love music. I consider myself to be a creative person and I love being able to integrate the Arts into my teaching. I am a big Blue Jays fan and love going to the games! I enjoy cooking and baking, reading, going to the movies, jogging, spending time with family and friends, and going to the cottage! I will also have a very busy year ahead of me with teaching, moving into my newly built condo, and planning my wedding!!
Those are some details to help you get to know me better! I am an open book so if there is anything that you would like to ask me about myself, my teaching practices, or my plans for the school year, please feel free to contact me via email andrea.ciardulli@yrdsb.ca, or by calling the school.
Can't wait to meet you!
Ms. C
