This Week We Will Be Honoring Veterans Who Served Our Country...
Staff:
I can't believe Term #1 is already in the books. This week will be jam-packed with things going on. Please take a moment to review the two-week calendar included within this publication. I wanted to give a two week overview, so everyone can see what's coming up.
We are really gaining some momentum and truly helping students reach their full potential. Keep being creative and innovative with your lessons; it truly makes the learning real and fun for all of your students. Also, keep focusing on building great relationships with all of your students, too. We have a great school and it shows in so many ways.
Go Grizzlies!

Parent Conferences:
- Thank you to Team Leaders for getting out our conference sign-up on SignUpGenius. This is a great way to ensure that the conferences stay organized. Using 6-8 minutes as the timeframe works well, too. A big thanks to STUCO and NJHS for finding student ambassadors to act as door knockers to ensure we stay on schedule.
- Make sure there are no surprises for parents or guardians as well. If a student isn't making the grade, please be sure to communicate with the parents and/or guardians early and often.
- Unified Arts will be hosting conferences on a drop-in basis.
- Finally, sell the work we do on that night. We will have a captive audience, so try to get creative with student work and any other items that are relevant to your Team and the learning going on within your classrooms - Go Grizzlies!
Veterans Day Festivities:
- Mrs. Potter will be taking her students to the Masonic Home to perform for their veterans. It's always a special treat for her and her students because I know how much it means to her, and it's her last time doing it - thanks Karen!
- Mrs. Potter and crew will be conducting our annual Veterans Day Assembly on Friday, November 8th from 10:00-11:00 p.m. Please ask your students to invite any family members who have served our country. I would love to see more and new veterans each year. I want to thank Mrs. Potter and teachers for making this Veteran Day Assembly happen each year.
- As teachers, please try to incorporate recognition of veterans into your lesson plans for the week. It's a great opportunity to connent to a very special topic and help educate our students on democracy and the people who protect it.
Team / Group Showcases:
I will be looking to showcase Teams throughout the year. This past week, I was able to focus on Team 7-1: The Wizards and the great things happening in their classrooms. I will be looking for teams to volunteer as move forward. All I ask is that you pick a good Team song and allow me to take 4 to 5 ten to twelve second segments of the learning happening within your team. It's fun and it's a great way to show off the amazing things happening in your classrooms, too. Below you will find the video...
