Junior Kindergarten at STCCS
Get Ready, Get Set, Go!
Nobody knows your child like you do! I look forward to partnering with you as your child begins his/her first school experience this fall.
Focussing on the following skills this summer will help your child as they prepare to transition to school.
DOES YOUR CHILD:
Use the toilet independently and clean up after themselves
Wash hands independently
Know their full name and age
Listen to stories, poems, rhymes, and books
Understand and follow directions with two or three steps
Talk, sing, and pray with your family
Express his/her needs with language so that others can generally understand
Make choices (i.e. what to wear or what to play)
Catch a large ball with arms out
Follow simple routines around home
Experiment using crayons, markers, and scissors
Draw a person with 3 or more body parts
Do snaps, buttons, and zippers on his/her clothing
Take their shoes on and off themselves
Play with other children
