Good Evening Stone Hill Students, Parents, and Staff,
We wish our eighth graders the best of luck as they take their Writing SOL on Monday and Tuesday of this week. Don't forget to get a good night's rest and bring your chromebook fully charged to school on both days.

This week PTO is holding a spirit week at Nothing Bundt Cakes (21305 Windmill Parc Dr. Sterling, VA 20166) from March 9th to March 14th. Tell them Stone Hill Middle School sent you!
The March PBIS word of the month is Generosity. We will be recognizing students during the month of March who are demonstrating generosity as our Students of the Month!

SHMS Upcoming Events:
- 8th Grade Writing SOL - The Writing 8 SOL is scheduled for Monday, March 9th (B-Day) and Tuesday, March 10th (A-Day).
- MAP Math Testing - All students will take their Spring Math MAP Testing this Friday, March 13th (B-day).
- RLC March Madness Event - Come out to cheer on our SHMS staff as they take on our rising 5th graders in a volleyball match this Friday at 6:00 p.m. For more information about this community event see the flyer below.

We had ten members from LCPS Senior Staff visit and our student tour guides did an amazing job!

Counseling Department Information
Course Selection Information:
Core and Foreign Language teachers have uploaded their recommendations into the Course Request tab in Student/ParentVUE. Students and parents can view those recommendations and can make changes to their elective choices only! At this time, all course changes must be requested through your child's grade level counselor. The final deadline to request a change is May 1st.
March Parent Coffee: The Wellness Connection will be here to present "Building Authentic Relationships Outside of Social Media". It will be aimed at helping parents understand how social media affects the brains of children and their socialization with one another. They will also encourage parents to start having conversations with their children about their current use and how to maintain a balance between social media and reality. It will be held on Friday, March 20th at 9:30am in the Stone Hill Library.
