Consol Principal's Office
What's Going on @ Consol?
Let's go places
Let's Go Places
Let’s go places.
Not just the ones you can find on a map.
But the ones you can find in your heart.
Let’s go beyond everything we know
and embrace everything we don’t
and once we’ve reached our destination,
let’s keep going.
Because inspiration doesn’t favor those who sit still.
It’s dances with the daring
and rewards the courageous with ideas that
excite, challenge, even inspire.
Ideas that take you places you never imagined.
Ideas big enough, and powerful enough,
to make the heart skip a beat,
and in some cases, maybe two.

AMCHS students earn awards at state HOSA conference
A&M Consolidated students recently won awards at the Texas Health Occupations Students of America (HOSA) State Leadership Conference in Galveston.
Students qualified for state through on-line testing last December. Sophomore Lena Ayari placed fourth in the Medical Reading competition, while freshman Minha Kim and junior Cynthia Zhang competed in Medical Math and Pathophysiology, respectively.
Additionally, sophomores Arena Ali and Mishall Lalani, along with junior Ronak Mukadam, submitted Barbara James Service Project Awards and were recognized at the State meeting. This award requires each student complete at least 50 hours of volunteer service work between June 2012 and March 2013. The three AMCHS students met this requirement by volunteering at St. Joseph's Hospital in Bryan.

State Meet Results
Senior Cody Green finished 9th in the 500 freestyle and earned an All-Amercian consideration time. Cody swam a little slower on Friday and was in the consolation final on Saturday, so 9th was the highest he could place. But, he dropped five seconds on Saturday to win the consolation heat, and his time was the sixth fastest time at the meet. Senior Teresa deFigueiredo finished 8th in the 100 butterfly. She swam right at her best time and school records on both days. Both swimmers are also the new school record holders in these events. If you have either one of them in your class, please congratulate them.
State Gymnastics Results
Three seniors from the A&M Consolidated Gymnastics Team competed at the State Championships this past weekend. Ben Guzman placed 3rd on vault and 9th on parallel bars in the state of Texas. He placed 5th in the All Around (combined score on all 6 events) which is an outstanding achievement.
Maggie Drummond placed 6th on balance beam in the state. She also made the Nationals Team for the state of Texas and will compete for the Texas team in Ft. Meyers, Florida May 17th and 18th. Maggie will compete as an All Arounder for the Texas Team. Senior Devon Harris also competed at the state championships this past weekend for Consol.
Tiger Baseball
Despite only getting eight hits, A&M Consolidated was able to get hits when it mattered, defeating Seguin, 7-1, Saturday. Ben Kennedy and Ryan Roderick both cleared the fences with home runs. The Tigers moved their record to 4-5-1.
Tiger Softball
As the host at the College Station ISD Tournament, A&M Consolidated went 3-3 in six games over a three-day period. The Tigers began the tournament by losing to Nacogdoches 9-6, but bounced back to beat Euless Trinity 4-0. During the tournament's second day, Consol fell to Round Rock Westwood but beat Victoria East. The Tigers closed out the tournament with a loss against Brenham and a win in the third-place, silver bracket game over Magnolia. The Tigers return to the field to face The Woodlands at 6:30 p.m. Tuesday.
