Wolf Howl
Ripples of Hope, next week
Week 2, check!
It is okay to have a kaleidoscope of feelings. It is okay to feel grateful and blessed, yet sad at the same time. We get to have all the emotions, no matter who we are. Know that you are enough and know that we can come out of this better than we were before. We will be stronger, we will have new skills, we will have prioritized the things that really matter, and we will be empowered by the fact that we did it! We not only survived, we thrived. Together!
I've heard from many of you the adjustments that you are making and I'm proud of you for reflecting and looking for ways to scale back, for both your sanity and those that we serve. It will pay off for us in the long run. I truly believe that!

I couldn't edit/shorten any of these...sigh! So proud of you ALL!
I would like to give Dyann a shout out. She kept me sane and afloat this week. She has helped my team and I so much with technology the past two weeks. She was so patient with my 700 questions J
And Mr. Wade- He kept Campbell engaged and read Wonder to them this afternoon. I can’t wait to read the book now. Campbell couldn’t stop laughing about it J
And you and Morgan completely deserve one. You two made this transition so easy for us this week. You all has very realistic expectations :)
Dear Mrs. Helmink,
Thank you very much for your email and kind words.
Julia is very engaged on her online lessons. We are very proud of her achievements and thankful for everything you and Whitt has been doing to keep our kids learning.
Dear Mrs. Gaiennie,
I gave a shout out to you for your Google page. Of all three kids working from Whitt, your page is the easiest to check off assignments. Thank you for doing them by day or however you did them where they are in one easy list to find! I can’t believe we’ve all made it to Friday. Thank you for everything you do.
Cheryl SmithI would like to take this moment to acknowledge your 3rd grade class teachers, Ms.Turner and Mr. Boatman. (All staff included!)
They have made this transition to online learning so wonderful! The students have been so receptive to the program, excited for the Hangout time, engaged in the lessons, and above all else, supported by their teachers!
They are encouraging my "Whitt wolf" (all wolves included!) to succeed, regardless of the situation.
They are the shining examples of the educators I want for my daughter, engaged, encouraging, and supporting, while pushing them to do and be their best! Great job!
Navigating this new normal is challenging, but very rewarding when you have the right team!! Thanks to all the teachers and staff! Thank you for your leadership and guidance developing Whitt Elementary into such a special place!
I am SO impressed as a parent with our first grade team. The lessons have been perfect- not too much or too little, and they do a great job of adding personality to their lessons. I can tell they are truly working as a team. I love listening to Jack shout answers back to them during the videos haha! As a parent, I am especially thankful for Mrs. Crim allowing “social time” during her hangouts on Thursday and Fridays. I mentioned to Amber yesterday, this has been a challenge socially as Jack has left his close friends in Oklahoma, and was just starting to settle in at Whitt. He looks forward to being able to see his friends J
I wanted to send you a message to let you know how smoothly Google classroom is going for Rennah. We appreciate all the work Mrs. Patsy and Mrs. Richardson are doing creating lessons for all the kids! Although I know Rennah would rather be with her classmates, the transition to e-learning has gone well. I’m sure not all parents are thrilled with their current situation, but it is helpful to have clear expectations from the teachers!
Confidence in all of this transition has been Kolbie’s hardest hurdle to overcome. It has always been her biggest obstacle with her Dyslexia, so in all of the new we are trying to find balance in that.
This morning she worked on an assignment that challenged her and when I asked if she was ready to turn it in she stopped and looked at it for a long time then turned to me very confidently and said, “Whitt Wolves are red hot, Whitt Wolves are red hot, Whitt wolves are red hot and once we start we can’t be stopped!”
“I am a wolf who can’t be stopped so let’s turn it in!”
What hit me in that moment is that even though we are all separated right now (and feeling all of the isolation) the culture and identity you have created at Whitt and in the kids is still living and breathing everyday! My kiddo who struggles, used a cheer from Wolf Howl to build her confidence this morning and push through something hard. As a mom... THANK YOU!!! You spend so much time teaching them who they are and in crunch time when it matters that has no option but to come out and they are better for it!
So glad to be a part of this Wolf Family!
