August 24, 2016
Welcome back to another exciting school year here at Shoemaker School! We have many new and exciting things planned. Our biggest change is our new school theme. We have added to our “Bucketfilling Concept”. This year our theme will be TEAM: Together Everyone Achieves More. We have paired it with a sort of superhero concept since not everyone is into sports. Instead, we are helping children look for their personal superpower. As always, it is our goal that this program will encourage kindness and help to unify our school. On the first day of school, we will have an awesome assembly called Music Technology w/Brent Daniels. This is a fun way to kick off our year and get everyone excited for a fresh start.
Also, we are excited to begin our first project for Community Service Club. Due to the horrible flooding in Maryland and Louisiana, there has been a huge cry for help. Since we can’t go down there to help clean up, instead we are partnering with Church World Service to put together Emergency Clean-up kits. I have already been able to get the 5 gallon buckets donated from the LV Hospital, however, we are going to be collecting the following:
Scouring pads sponges scrub brush reusable towels
Liquid laundry soap liquid disinfecting dish soap Household cleaner that can be mixed with water
Clothespins 50 or 100ft of clothesline dust masks
Non-surgical latex gloves work gloves w/leather palm
Heavy duty 30-45 gallon trash bags on a roll
Bottle of Non-aerosol insect repellent
All items must be new and all liquids must be capped and securely tightened. We will collect these items until September 31st.
Anytime we do a project where we ask for money, please make the check out to Shoemaker Angel Network.
I will also be starting groups for children whose parents are/have gone through a divorce. Please watch for that paperwork to come home since I need parental permission for the children to participate.
If you have any questions, please call me at Shoemaker – 610-965-1626 ext 33009. Thank you again for all that you do to support our school and our projects.
Sincerely,
Mrs. Ringer
