Spiritual Reflection
Miss Sheila O'Callaghan
We are still in the season of Lent. This is a good time to renew our plans and refresh our energy during these final days before we celebrate Easter.
For many, Lent seems very long. It is forty days long. There are many “forties” in the Bible. The most important one is the forty years that the Hebrew people lived in the desert after they left being slaves in Egypt and before they moved into their Promised Land.
We read the story about Noah and his ark. It says that the rain fell for forty days and nights.
Jesus spent forty days and nights in the desert before He began His public life. Maybe God was helping Him to become strong and ready to do His work.
During Lent, has God gotten your attention? Remember it isn’t too late to do your best. Reach out to others, show love and respect at home and at school, and be present to the needs of others.
Please pray for the sick, especially Father Mink, Father Jasper’s mom, Patrick Flanagan, and all the sick of our parish. Our Armed Forces and First Responders need our prayers. Please pray for them.
