Cabell Elementary School
Library Information for Teachers
How the Library Should Support Your Classroom
Collaboration is much different from cooperating (i.e. suggesting resources or lesson topics) and coordination (i.e. providing resources and time to see students). Collaboration is co-teaching to create team-designed, team-taught and team-evaluated lessons and units. See the "Collaboration Examples" tab on our Live Binder page for more information.
How to Access Resources
Library Log-in Information:
Some resources are more beneficial if you log in to your personal library services account.
Your Library ID is 10+employee ID or 100+employee ID (you need 7 digits).
Your Pin is the last 4 digits of your employee ID.Example: Library ID 1054321 Pin 4321

If you log-in to the catalog you may:
- Request books from Cabell Elementary or any Dallas ISD school

- View books currently checked out
- Check on the status of requested books
Books can be checked out for two weeks and can be renewed.
Hundreds of e-books are available online, including children's and professional literature. Access E-books at library.dallasisd.org or this direct link. The first choice, Follett, has the largest selection and is compatible with Apple and Android devices.
Color Nooks E-readers
A set of 28 Nooks is available for classroom use. If you would like to use the Color Nooks, please come to the library or send me an email (email@example.com). To ensure all Nooks are fully charged please give at least 24 hour notice. There are many benefits to using these e-readers with students. For more information, see the "Nooks" tab on our Live Binder page.
