Last Day to Order This Year's Yearbook is May 8--Orders Must Be Place Online

All yearbooks will be mailed home directly by the yearbook company. Yearbooks MUST be ordered online. This is a change from our regular practice—in typical years, we order extra yearbooks that we sell in the building at the end of the school year. We cannot do this this time. Therefore, we are extending online ordering to Friday, May 8. To order a yearbook, click here. If you need to check to see if you placed a yearbook order, please email Kristen Gerth at kgerth@cbsd.org. We want to make sure that every student who would like a yearbook, regardless of financial situation, gets a yearbook. If your child would like a yearbook and you are experiencing a financial difficulty at this time, please email one of the following staff members and we will make sure a yearbook is sent to your home: Brian Caughie, Kyle Dudley, Jeff Klein, Mandy Cammann, Lauren Myrtetus.

Parent/Student Infinite Campus Portal is Open

Parent Portal and Student Portals in Infinite Campus went live this week. Students are aware of the work they have been completing and submitting and they are receiving feedback and grades
directly from teachers throughout this process. The opening of the portals allows both students and parents to have access to in-progress gradebooks. We recommend that students and parents review the grading section of Infinite Campus on a weekly basis. If any inaccuracies are identified, please reach out to your child's teacher and/or guidance counselor in order to rectify the problem. Information regarding CB Distance Learning grading was previously shared and can be found here: Secondary Grading

Retrieving Items Students Left at Tamanend

We realize that most students have personal items in lockers and classrooms at Tamanend. Central Bucks is developing a plan for students to retrieve items left in schools. Details will be communicated via email blast as soon as we have them. We appreciate everyone's patience as we develop a plan to safely allow for the retrieval of items.

Tamanend to Hold Another Virtual Coffeehouse on Tuesday, May 5

The next edition of Tamanend’s Corona Cabaret will be held Tuesday, May 5th at 7pm. Student, faculty, and staff performances are encouraged! More information for performers and audience members, including the performer sign-up, can be found HERE! We hope you will join us for this fun event!

Next Tamanend Parent Book Club is May 13 (Virtually, Through Teams)

Join us for the Tamanend Parent Book Club. This year, we are reading The Teenage Brain: A Neuroscientist's Survival Guide to Raising Adolescents and Young Adults (2016) by Frances Jensen and Amy Ellis Nutt. The book describes the unique functioning of the adolescent brain and provides practical guidance for parents. This book club will follow a "no-pressure" format in which the facilitator will present a summary of the chapter and open the floor for discussion. We will share resources and ideas with the goal of helping the entire Tamanend parent community navigate the challenges of raising adolescents. Our next meeting will be held on Wednesday, May 13 at 6:30 PM, virtually through Teams: Join Microsoft Teams Meeting Please click here for more information about the Tamanend Parent Book Club.

Anuncios para lugares favoritos

Spanish 2 students created advertisements for some of their favorite places including cities, towns or yes, even Tamanend, using positive commands. The advertisements are a great reminder of all the beautiful and fun places near and far that we all will hopefully be enjoying again soon!

April's Featured Teacher is Mrs. Frymoyer

For the month of April, I had the pleasure of interviewing Mrs. Frymoyer! Mrs. Frymoyer has been an Autistic Support teacher at Tamanend for 10 years! Her favorite part about being a teacher is being able to bring smiles to her students' faces and watching her students grow all school year. Mrs. Frymoyer has always wanted to be a teacher but found her true passion to be teaching in the Autistic Support classroom. Some of Mrs. Frymoyer’s hobbies outside of school are traveling, playing board games, performing in musical theatre productions and of course spending time with her family. Some of Mrs. Frymoyer's favorite vacation spots are Italy, London, and Paris. Mrs. Frymoyer graduated from Elizabethtown College. Spicy food and pasta are Mrs. Frymoyer’s favorite foods. Mrs. Frymoyer loves the color Tiffany blue and her favorite genre of music is country. Her favorite show is How I Met Your Mother and her favorite author is Jodi Picoult. When Mrs. Frymoyer retires she sees herself teaching graduate courses, traveling with her family, and performing in community theatre.

More Positivity from Tamanend National Junior Honors Society

Tamanend National Junior Honor Society members are continuing to lead even though we can’t be together. NJHS members are spreading positivity in various ways throughout our community. A few examples of what they are doing to brighten other people’s day are included below.

We’d love to see all Tamanend students spread positivity! We know TMS students have a lot of good vibes to share! If you do something to spread positivity, let us know! Take a picture or video and email it Señora Mars (mmars@cbsd.org) or Señora Murray (emurray@cbsd.org).

Reminder--Tamanend Students Launch Warwick Memorial Park Bricks Project

Two Tamanend 8th Graders, Julianna Smith and Andela Dozier, from Girl Scouts Troop 21638 have come up with the idea to build a walkway up to the flagpole at Warwick Memorial Park. They are asking people to purchase a brick because they feel that on the walkway, people should be able to show their support to the veterans at this memorial park. The girls are building this walkway for their Silver Award. The Girl Scout Silver Award is the highest award a Girl Scout cadet can achieve. It gives the girls a chance to show that they are leaders who are organized, determined, and dedicated to improving their community. To purchase a brick or get more information go to https://wmpbricks.wixsite.com/wmpbricks.

Student Assistance Program (SAP)

Reminder--Help is Down the Hall

The Tamanend Student Assistance Program (SAP) Team is a group of trained faculty members who can connect students with appropriate help and resources if they show signs of struggling with mental health concerns or alcohol/substance use. If you notice concerns such as major changes in behavior or mood, drop in achievement, or use of drugs or alcohol, then you may consider a SAP referral. When the team receives a referral, we gather more information to determine if there is a need for intervention and further assessment. The information is confidential, and the process is for the purpose of offering help. Anyone can refer a student about whom they are concerned. Referrals can be made at this referral link or by contacting a SAP team member:

Mrs. Barlow, Mrs. Cammann, Sra. Corsino, Mr. Dudley, Mr. Heisey,

Mr. Klein, Mrs. Myrtetus, Ms. Scheffey, & Mrs. Szagola

Communicating Absences

You may report your child's absence in any of the following ways:

Visit Our Nurse's Office Distance Learning Page!

Central Bucks School District is closely monitoring the CDC’s recommendations as well as those from the Pennsylvania Department of Education, the Pennsylvania Department of Health, and the Bucks County Health Department. You may review the latest recommendations from the CDC on their website at www.cdc.gov. At this time, the best advice is to practice the same common-sense preventative measures that are recommended every cold and flu season, including proper hand washing and staying home when sick.

Distance Learning Technical Support

  • Logging in to Laptops: Students will use their FULL CB email address: (lastname.firstinitial###@student.cbsd.org) & password to log into the laptop. Your classroom teacher can help you with the log-in information. You can also email our support team.

  • Updating Devices: To allow your computer to be completely up to date after the handout, CBSD will be sending updates to the computers that could cause a random restart. Please make sure to have autosave turned on by creating new documents through Office 365 on the web so you do not lose work.

  • Device Having Issues: Restarting your computer will solve many computer issues. Please restart twice before reaching out for tech support. Click here to submit a Help Ticket.

  • Broken Hardware: We will attempt to have frequent drive through hardware support for our staff and students. In the event that device peripherals (pens, chargers, batteries, etc.) stop working or need replacement, families and staff do not need to purchase them through MyPaymentsPlus at this time. These devices can be bought directly from Amazon or a retailer of your choosing. A list of supplies can be found here: https://www.cbsd.org/Page/5150
