The Gratz Weekly Scoop
February 13, 2017
Thought for the Week:
Teacher Resources:
Whole Brain Teaching- I have seen components of this method used in a couple of our classrooms and love the engagement levels it is producing in our students. We often get bogged down in the sit and get style with our students. This is not beneficial for them. The days of lecture only in front of the room are long gone. I think we are working in ways to break our learning down and having our students being active learners. I challenge each of you to continue with this work and check out this resource.

Reaching out from our Resource Coordinator:
Some of you have been asking about a new resource that was brought to us, "Basecamp" through the Carpenter Street Baptist Church. They are offering a program for students K-5th grade on Tuesdays and Thursdays after school. They offer homework help, reading and math tutoring, healthy snacks, games and crafts, and character building. This program is FREE. If you have parents who are interested in it, you can grab a flyer off the information table in the school square.
The Moberly School District does not sponsor or endorse this program, we are just simply passing along the resource for parents who may be interested.
If you have any questions, don't hesitate to contact me.
Emily
