Blackboard Tools in the Spotlight!
Blackboard- Date Management
Every year we transfer our courses to new course spaces. Unfortunately, the old dates transfer too. Using the Date Management tool in Blackboard allows you to adjust the dates easily and effectively. If you assign dates to your assignments, assessments, or other course content, adjusting all the dates from one section to the next can be time-consuming. But with the new date management tool, you can automatically adjust all dates in a course at once. Shift all dates by a certain number of days, or base the shift on the course start date; of course, you can also review all dates and adjust them as needed. Under Course Tools, click Date Management.
Tip: Breaks do not automatically align year after year. So check to make sure they are correct!
Blackboard- Organizing Gradebook Columns
Is your grade center a mess? Do your students have to search for the current assignment in the grade center because week 1 items are after week 8? If you did not build your assignments in chronological order and you have to search your grade center, your students will too!
Organize your grade center columns in just a few easy steps to make it simple for you and your students to view grades.
Tip: In the full grade center, locate the manage button and select the chevrons, on the drop down menu select Column Organization. Locate the columns to be moved, select the cross hairs and drag the column to the correct location. Once your columns are organized, locate and select the submit button.
Blackboard- Customizing your Course List
Is your Blackboard course list getting out of hand? Are you always searching for your current courses? If so, you can customize your course list to include only the courses you want to see in the My UNMC tab. Click on the gear icon in the upper right-hand corner of the courses module and select the courses you would like to appear.
Tip: If you are not comfortable hiding your courses, you can move your current courses to the top by selecting and moving the arrows to the right of the course name.
