Transfer Station and Recycling Center Tour
Next week we will be going to the Emmet County Transfer Station on Thursday, Nov. 3. We will be there for a few hours in the morning. Students will need to wear boots or tennis shoes and be dressed for the weather. We are outside for the entire field trip. Please send your child with a hat and gloves.

Language Arts
- Reading Buddies - The 4th graders really enjoyed reading to the first grade students this week. It really helped with reading self-esteem and kids worked on their reading fluency.
- Reading - We read an excerpt from "Alien Invasion" this week. The students loved it! Our focus was on story elements and making predictions.
- Writing - We worked on the body paragraphs of our personal narrative, students focused on "exploding the moment" by addend details and we reviewed transition words.
- Grammar - This week we worked on action, helping and linking verbs.
Math
Science and Social Studies
Science-
We wrapped up our lesson on how animals sense their environment. Thank you for all of the donations of tubes. We were able to use these to make pinhole cameras. The kids really enjoyed making and using them to look at objects throughout the room.
Social Studies-
We started exploring the regions of the United States. We learned about location, direction, scales, symbols, lines of longitude and latitude, map keys, and global grids. We worked in partners to read and find vocabulary words, and answer questions.
