St. Luke Weekly SMORE
May 19, 2023
Leadership Message
Dear St. Luke Families,
This week students became true witnesses of faith as they led our Living Rosary Celebration. I am sure Mary heard our prayers as our whole school prayed to her. This week we also focused on our Catholic Schools and how blessed we are to have the opportunity to celebrate our faith in a publicly funded school.
Pope Francis tells us that, “Education cannot be neutral. It is either positive or negative; either it enriches or it impoverishes; either it enables a person to grow or it lessens, even corrupts him. The mission of schools is to develop a sense of truth, of what is good and beautiful.
I have seen many good and beautiful things happening in our school. St. Luke continues to be a wonderful place for students to become the best they can be.
We have a few staffing changes that will happen next year. We will sadly say good-bye to Mrs. Sharilynn Shakeshaft, Mr. Mason Hawks and Ms. Evans. We wish them all the best on their next assignments and will continue to pray for them on their educational journey. We will welcome a new Assistant Principal to St. Luke. Mr. Sean Gregg will be coming to us from St. Theresa Catholic School. We have not quite completed the rest of our staffing for next year but will make an announcement to our schools community once it is all finalized.
Enjoy this Family day weekend with friends and family,
Cathy Hinger
