READ ACROSS AMERICA WEEK
Read Across America Week was a huge success. Each day we had a special theme and the students looked great! We want to thank the Shelton Police Department for coming in to read to our students on Thursday.
Mustangs Read Together
We are excited to begin a special whole school initiative - Mohegan Reads Together. On March 2nd, we revealed the book that we will read as a school: “Sled Dog School,” by Terry Lynn Johnson. A letter explaining this great program and a calendar went home on Thursday. Each family should have received a copy of the book so you can read as a family at home. I included the letter and the calendar in this newsletter.
JUMP ROPE 4 HEART
Due to the snow day this past Tuesday, the staff and students at Mohegan Elementary School will duct tape Mr. Coppola to the wall this Tuesday, March 7th.
FREE BREAKFAST AND LUNCH
Breakfast and lunch will be free for the remainder of this school year. Any families that accumulated balances on their lunch accounts during January and February will need to pay off those debts. Payment can be made through Infinite Campus or money can be turned into the cafeteria. Any money in your student’s account will carry over into next year.
EARLY DISMISSAL DAYS
March 10, 17, and 24 are early dismissal days. K-4 Mohegan School students dismiss at 1:50.
AM Pre-K dismisses at 11:05AM. PM Pre-K starts at 11:50AM and ends at 1:50PM.
PARENT CONFERENCES
Parent Conferences will take place at Mohegan Elementary School on Thursday, March 16th and March 23rd from 6-8PM. Conferences will be in person. Please sign up with your child’s teacher.

PTO NEWS
Our next PTO meeting will be Tuesday, March 7th at 6:30 PM.
The Boys Choice event will be Friday, March 24th from 6-9PM at Black Hawk Country Club in Stratford.
The MES Fun Run will take place on March 31st.
