Family Life Lessons

February 4th, 2022

Dear Parents/Guardians:

Family Life is part of the 5th grade elementary health curriculum. The course content is the adolescent phase of growth and development. During the week of 2/7 - 2/11, the girls will meet with the school nurse, Mrs. O’Gorman and the boys will meet with the Physical Education teacher, Mr. Hogan to watch these videos and have a Q&A afterwards.

Girls Puberty Education

Boys Puberty Education

Although this is not sexual education, due to the sensitive nature of Family Life Education, New Jersey State Statutes Title 18A: 35-4.7 gives parents/guardians the option of excluding their child from any portion of Family Life Education instruction if it is in conflict with conscience, moral, or religious beliefs. If this is the case, please fill out this exclusion form (opt out).

After watching the video if you still have questions or concerns please reach out to me.

Sincerely,

Patricia O’Gorman RN, CSN
