What's happening at Conrad...
Hello Conrad Families,
I cannot believe that it is February already! How did we get here so fast?! Get ready for another six weeks of winter because Punxsutawney Phil saw his shadow today. That just means more indoor recesses, bummer! :)
There is so much going on in February! Our first annual Recipe Yearbook is being sponsored by Conrad’s PTO. I ask for all parents to participate in this unique activity if you can. Our students have had a recipe page sent home with them, but if you need another recipe page, you can download here. PTO needs all pages returned on February 3rd. There will be more information coming soon about ordering and the cost for the Yearbook. It’s going to be super cute, so you don’t want to miss out!
Parent-Teacher Conferences are right around the corner. We are striving for 100% attendance with all families! Conferences will be virtual through Zoom beginning on Tuesday, Feb. 16th from 11:30AM-7:30PM and Wednesday, Feb. 17th from 8:00AM-4:00PM. If you still need to sign up for a conference time, all classroom teachers’ Sign Up Genius Links are posted on our Conrad website. Teachers will be sharing your child’s GOLD report through the Teaching Strategies Family App, so if you have not downloaded it yet, please do so by Friday, February 5th. In addition, all teachers will send their Zoom link prior to conferences. Our teachers will be participating in Professional Development on Thursday, Feb. 18th. Students will not have school that week. If you have questions, contact your child’s teacher.
Please remember that students will not be exchanging Valentine Cards this year due to COVID guidelines and limiting the amount of items all students touch. You should have received communication regarding items that can be donated for the Valentine Celebrations in the classroom on Friday, February 12th.
I am so excited to announce that we are partnering again with Care and Share for the Cooking Matters course. There are two different courses that will be offered virtually this year and there is no limit to how many parents can attend the course. The course for Conrad families, Cooking Matters at Home, will be on Wednesdays, beginning February 24th at 5:00 PM and will run for nine sessions. You can attend all nine sessions or pick the ones you would like to attend. The other course being offered is Cooking Matters Child Engagement. This course will be on Thursdays at 4:00 PM beginning on February 11th. You can sign up for either of these courses by clicking on the hyperlinks provided.
Finally, February is the month of National Random Acts of Kindness. At Conrad, we will be doing our part in spreading kindness within our building, classrooms and community. Please join us this month and let's make a positive impact everywhere we go!
Take care and have a Fabulous February!
