Announcements & Updates
- Mendham’s annual Holly Trail and Tree Lighting is tomorrow, Saturday, December 7. There will be activities throughout town from 10 a.m. to 3 p.m., including arts and crafts, a cookie walk, and a scavenger hunt. Mountain View Chorus and Band members will perform for the tree lighting at 4 p.m. at the Borough Park gazebo.
- Join the Mountain View Chorus and Orchestra ensembles at their Winter concert on Thursday, December 12 at 7:00 p.m. at Mountain View.
- Mt. View is hosting a gift card collection drive to help Heartworks fill holiday stockings for the families they support. We will collect the following gift cards through December 12: Jersey Mike's - $10, $25; Starbucks - $10, $25; Sephora $10, $25; Bernards Cafe - $50, $100; Nicoletta Pizza - $25, $50; Rebecca Collection - $15, $25; Amazon - $10, $25, $50; Target - $10, $25, $50; AMC - $25, $50. If 150 gift cards are collected, December 13 will be a "homework free" night/weekend for students (note that this will only apply to nightly homework, not projects that have been previously assigned).
- A reminder that the Lions' Den is available to students after school from 3:15 - 4:15 on Tuesdays and Thursdays. There is no pre-registration required; students can sign up in lunch the day of.
- Check out this resource for unique "Screen-less Gift Ideas" as you holiday shop to help promote off-screen time for your middle schooler. Clicking on the "Tech Talk Tuesday" link will sign you up for a Screenagers weekly email focused on helping parents manage and decrease struggles with their children around screen time.
Mendham Borough presents... Mindfulness for the Modern Parent
The Mendham Borough School District is excited to host a parent workshop at Hilltop School on January 6th at 7:00 p.m. titled "Mindfulness for the Modern Parent." In this evening workshop, you will discover how you can support your child's ability to:
- Calm themselves when feeling overwhelmed
- Understand how their mind works, so that they create a shift in thinking
- Manage strong emotions
- Build resilience and confidence
Founder of "Zensational Kids," Allison Morgan, will teach you the skills that will support your child's social and emotional health to help them function through life's challenges.
