iPad Roll- Out & Parent Orientation

Come pay your DAPP and pick up your iPad

Again this year every fourth and fifth grade student in Rock Hill School will have access to an iPad during the school day. Last year, most of our families decided to pay the DAPP fee which enabled them to take their iPad home. This option is available this year and the fee is $50.

Our teachers were able to engage our students in some amazing learning experiences through the use of the iPads. That engagement was driven by instruction that was powered by technology!!!

All sessions will be electronic and self-paced. You can come in at any time during the two hours to begin the electronic session. It will take at least 30 minutes to go through the electronic session.

The Details.......if you want your student to take their iPad home

If you want your student to take their iPad home:

1. Attend orientation (or abbreviated on-line refresher).

2. Pay $50 DAAP fee.

3. Sign signature sheet (pg. 15 & 16 in PMCG) and return.

If you attended an orientation and session last year for any child in the family, you do not have to attend another orientation.

If you signed a mobile computing guide for your 5th grade child last year, you do not have to sign another.

A mobile computing guide must be signed for every 4th grade student.

Parents not wanting the device to go home must still sign the signature sheet of the Mobile Computing guide. However, you will mark on their that they want device to stay at school.

There will be limited “partial/full scholarships” available for families in need, but an application for those resources will need to be complete and submitted with a partial payment, if applicable. DEVICE SCHOLARSHIP Applications are available at the iRock website www.irockanytimeanywhere.com and at the school.

If the scholarship is approved, the iPad may be sent home.

We hope you will see the excitement in your child that will develop through the use of 1:1 implementation. Come join us on this thrilling journey as we create 21st century classrooms for your students!
