Immigration in Chicago

Are immigrants really delinquents?

Immigration... In Chicago?

In Chicago, its no secret that they have an overflow of immigrants. Culturally and economically immigrants have contributed to American society. According to the Illinois Coalition for Immigrant and Refugee Rights, 36 percent of Chicago's population are immigrants. Chicago has the second most largest population of immigrants in the entire United States. Immigrants play a central role in the life and growth of our nation. In fact immigrants contribute 10 billion dollars to the US economy annually. So with all this money being generated why is immigration a problem? Immigration violates Article 1 and Article 2 from the declaration of human rights. Which states equality for all humans. That doesn't exclude immigrants because they are humans too and deserve the same rights as everyone else.

Chicago will Always be Home

What are people doing?

They're quite a few organizations that help out with the immigration crisis. Some organizations I researched were the Heartland Alliance, Immigration Advocates Network, and ICIRR.org. They basically do about the same things to help the immigrant community.

They help immigrants with immigration authorization, help complete forms, filling USCIS forms, help processing the violence against women act, and more importantly they help immigrants obtain U visas and guide them through the road of becoming a U.S resident.
