St. Mark News
December 21st, 2015
Dear St. Mark Families,
I cannot thank our Home and School moms enough for all their hard work in putting together our Winterfest events. The caroling was beautiful, and what a big crowd of students and parents came out for this special event! After a nice long walk caroling it was wonderful to come back to the gym for home cooked food. The children had a great time getting pictures with Santa and making various crafts at the craft tables. Father Mooney even had fun coloring with the students. Thank you again to our Home and School, and all the 8th grade students and parents that helped with this event.
During the Christmas Season everyone is busy decorating, baking and buying presents, but being a principal of a Catholic School makes me proud to know that the children do know the true meaning of Christmas. One of our 8th grade students, Moriah Konnovitch, beautifully described what Christmas means to her. I would like to share her words with you.
“During these four weeks of Advent we have been preparing for Jesus’ birth. Just as Joseph and Mary traveled during a very important time in their lives, we travel with them and find ourselves becoming closer to Jesus.
Think of a time when you were waiting for something, like Christmas, and could barely wait! When the time came, you were filled with joy and love. This is how Joseph, Mary, the Wise men, and others felt at Jesus’ birth.”
May your hearts be filled with peace and happiness during this Christmas Season and always. St. Mark School wishes you and your families a very Merry Christmas and a happy and healthy New Year.
God bless,
Mrs. Sanson
