PFC SPECIAL MESSAGE
Important Walkathon and School Volunteer Information
Get on your walking shoes!
Dear Thunderbird Parents,
The Walkathon is finally here and we’re looking forward to seeing some Olympic-sized Thunderbird school spirit! Get your walking shoes out, get those last-minute pledges in at http://thornhillschool.dojiggy.com and don’t forget the sunscreen! We’ll start setting up around 8:30 on Saturday, and the Opening Ceremony will begin at 10 am.
Bring your cash/checks and hard copy of your dojiggy donations form to the registration table by the front doors of the school to check in. And remember, the first 200 walkers to check in with at least $30 in pledges will get their walkathon T-shirt tomorrow!
If you need a break from walking, you can grab a bite to eat at the Dads Club Olympic Village BBQ, get your face painted, get more info about the Back to School Donation Drive and Thornhill eScrip program, and enjoy music by DJ Hey Love! Then walk more laps to earn cool prizes!
If you haven’t signed up to volunteer yet, come to the registration table by the front doors of the school and we’ll find a job for you!
Looking forward to a great day with a great school community for a great cause!

Thornhill Elementary Walkathon

Hi Thornhill Parents,
Many of you may be aware of the new OUSD policy that all parents who are volunteering (more than 11 times in a year) or chaperoning (field trips) at school must now be fingerprinted through Live Scan. If you are volunteering at school on a regular basis, you must also have an up to date TB test.
The PFC has arranged for Red Tomato LiveScan Fingerprinting to be at Thornhill on Saturday, September 17 from 1:45pm-4:15pm and Wednesday, September 21 from 2:00-6:00pm to provide fingerprint scanning (which is now an OUSD volunteer requirement for parents wanting to chaperone/drive on school field trips). Click here to select an appointment time: Live Scan Fingerprinting
The cost is $36 (you may pay by cash/check/credit card). Please contact Lilly Smith (firstname.lastname@example.org) if you need help with the fee.
PLEASE BRING your ID & payment and please be on time for your appointment. Live Scan forms will be available for you to fill out on site or you can pick them up in the office.
*Please stay tuned to additional dates of Live Scan being offered on campus.
Don't forget in addition to TB and Fingerprinting you must also register!
