Our Flourishing Economy
It's Fit to come to Connecticut because...
Job Opportunities
Our job opportunities are so diverse anyone can find a career that suit them best. Job opportunities include, but are not limited to: manual workers, apprentices, sailors, hired hands, tradesmen, the operation of stores, or employment through large businesses. Jobs are also supported by the excessive number of natural resources that are available in Connecticut which include maple trees (from which substances are extracted in order to create maple syrup), lumber, and copper.
The Land in Connecticut
Life in the Colony
It's Fit to come to Connecticut because...
The Fair Government of Connecticut
The rules that are outlined in the charter or our colony leave us, the colonists, with a great deal of free will, allowing us to have quite a bit of freedom. We are free to make our own decisions, and our voice is heard in town meetings, where the representatives we choose get us what we deserve.
The charter of Connecticut, granted to John Winthrop Jr. on April 23, 1662 by King Charles II outlined the fact that the governor would posses the executive power in the colony and would have the responsibility of keeping the influence of the Crown present in the colony. A council that is intended the advise the governor regarding important affairs is also present, and those individuals posses both judicial and legislative powers.
