- Working in pairs, students will create a Word Cloud or Mind Map about fractions. This gives the teacher a good idea of what the students might already know about fractions.
- Students will then come back together and share their Word Cloud or Mind Map.
- Students watch a quick video on the parts of a fraction.
- Working together, we will practice creating different fractions using the online tool Gynzy.com

Why use this technology?
Math Antics- This is one of my favorite websites for educational videos. The students love his personality, he's so engaging. It's a real hook! It's a great way to reach students that need a visual and auditory lessons.
Gynzy- This is an interactive white board lesson. It allows students to manipulate the objects, they can write on the board, and once again it's very engaging.
Lesson 2- Finding Equivalent Fractions

- Working in pairs students will choose a Google Application to use, to create a vocabulary study guide and share it with the rest of the class.
- As a group we will work with the Gynzy fraction models to create equivalent fractions. The students will then log onto Padlet to post their findings about equivalent fractions.
- We will come back together as a group and discuss our findings. I will show the students that along with using models, you can also use multiplication to find equivalent fractions. Working together we will find equivalent fractions using Gynzy white board.
Quiz- I will create a Kahoot! quiz that the students will participate in using Google Chrome Books.
Why use this technology?
Gynzy- This is an interactive white board lesson. It allows students to manipulate the objects, they can write on the board, and once again it's very engaging.
Padlet-I chose to use Padlet, because not all of my students are comfortable standing in front of the class talking. I think this is a great outlet to have students share their thoughts. I also feel that students are more comfortable typing then writing.
Kahoot! Is an interactive quiz maker. After the lesson, I will give the students the created quiz, they will use individual Chrome Books to answer the questions on the quiz. The students are very eager to use the Chrome Books and they love the website Kahoot!
