Take Note...

*HOMEWORK will start next week! Please look for a half sheet of math or language to come home nightly Mondays through Thursdays AND a reading log to track 15 minutes of nightly reading. PLEASE practice counting coins with your child at home.


*FRIDAY JOURNALS started today. Please read the note in the front of your child's notebook for more details. :)


*Scholastic book orders went home last Friday. They were due today, however, you can still order on-line if you wish: scholastic.com/readingclub (Parent code: J3HzT)

"I CAN"

This section of the newsletter will highlight what we have learned this week!


READING: I CAN use a variety of strategies when I come upon a word that I don't know.

WRITING: I CAN add details to my writing to make it more interesting.

SPELLING/LANGUAGE: I CAN spell long e and short e words. I CAN find a word that names a specific person, place, or thing = PROPER NOUN!

MATH: I CAN count coins to make 25 cents and exchange coins for those of equal value.

SOCIAL STUDIES: I CAN tell the meaning of the words in the Pledge of Allegiance. I CAN tell about the stars and stripes on the American Flag.
