A Message from the Leadership Team
This week we take time to celebrate National Teacher Appreciation Week and to say, "Thank You” to all our amazing and special teachers. You are appreciated for all that you do. Remember that you have the power to change the trajectory of generations to come by making a difference in one life.
Adult Education Please help me welcome Bruce Rutila who will be joining the LWTC leadership team in June as the Workforce Education Coordinator working closely with Adult Education. Currently he teaches 10th grade English at LWTHS and has been coordinating part-time with Adult Education. He is originally from Michigan, but moved down to Florida for the weather. This is a second career for Bruce whose first career was in business where he managed many part-time employees and understands the need for staff development and ongoing training. He is married with two children—a daughter who is a freshman at USF (Go Bulls!) and a son who is a sophomore at Naples High. Within the next few weeks you should start seeing more of Bruce in the evenings and eventually fully committed to Adult Education. Welcome Bruce Rutila!
Community Education The summer catalog is in and is being distributed across the county to our stand locations. Please share the information with your friends and family. We thank you for your continued support of our program.
What's new to Community Education? We are offering IV Therapy, Social Media for Businesses, Charcoal Art, Spanish for Law Enforcement, Nature Journaling, and other classes. This summer all classes will be at Lorenzo Walker Technical College.

Educator Tip: For Student Success, Everyone Should be Prepared
Both educators and students needed to be prepared in order for students to succeed. Here are three basic tips that help prepare both students and instructors:
- Educators should have resources and professional development
- Interact with other educators, share resources and ideas
- Make sure students know what to expect.
