March Drug Awareness Presentations
In March we have secured some folks to give educational awareness talks/demonstrations to our students about the dangers of drugs. This has become a health crisis for our youth, and together we can help teenagers avoid this risky behavior.
On the following dates Kevin Rosario from Gosnold will come to present to students. These will occur during the morning.
Gosnold Presentations
March 13
- 8:15-9:25 12th grade
- 9:30-10:45 10th grade
March 19
- 8:15-9:25 9th grade
- 9:30-10:45 11th grade
We also are bringing in Mark Schieldrop from AAA to present to students about marijuana and driving. He will come in for PE classes. We have presentations scheduled for March 3, 4, 12, 17, 24 and 25.
Attendance Matters
That was our 1st trimester attendance rate! That is good, but it needs to be better. Last year our Trimester 1 Attendance Rate was 96.1%. Parents and students we need to work together to get this number up. Attendance matters.
The state expects a 95% rate for student attendance. We want to achieve a 95.9% rate for the year. We can do this, but students need to come to school everyday. No excuses. Remember, your boss will expect you at work everyday, and so will your co-workers. Build healthy habits now. Come to school because we want you here!
Year 2020 Raise in Minimum Wage
Attention students: As of January 1, 2020 the minimum wage will increase to $12.75 an hour. If you are working, please make sure that you are receiving you state mandated increase.
