All medical forms and medications are due in the clinic by FRIDAY, APRIL 26.
The two medical forms. One is required for every student attending that gives medical history and permission for some over the counter medications the school provides. The other form is for any other medication (over the counter or prescription) that needs to be signed by your physician in order for the student to receive the medication(s) on the trip. Please contact school nurse, Traci Bowen, RN, if you have any questions. Thank you!!

Reminders
Last week, we had ten different situations come to the office that occurred on the track.
Please make sure that you are stationed at different points of the track supervising and not just standing together at one end. In this way, all students are supervised.
THANK YOU!
Team EVERLY
Please remember to keep our sweet Shelia and Everly in your prayers and remember that if you would like to order a t-shirt, to use this link!
We are doing a fund raiser through action athletics, if you would like to order a t-shirt.
Those who live in Kingsport and are eligible to vote must educate themselves on the candidates and their stance on public education (above is a great opportunity for such). I regret I did not share this information before this newsletter, but you still have time to educate yourselves. I am trying to get the information for upcoming BMA forums and debates. I will send this via email once I confirm the dates.
Kingsport has not had a great turn out for local elections in recent years. The school system is the third largest population of employees in the city. Your vote has weight. This is also an excellent opportunity to encourage students who are registered to vote to do so responsibly. Remember- we can't endorse a particular candidate/party from our roles as school system employees.
Early voting takes place 5/9 - 5/16 and the last day to register to vote is 4/22.

APPLICATION TO PRESENT AT THE 2019 NISWONGER FOUNDATION SCHOOL SUCCESS SYMPOSIUM
When: Thursday, June 20, 2019 from 7:30 AM - 3:30 PM
Where: NPAC and Greeneville High School, 210 Tusculum Blvd., Greeneville, TN 37745
We are sending you an invitation to apply as a presenter for the Niswonger Foundation 2019 School Success Symposium.
We invite you and/or a group of your co-educators to present how you make a difference for students, at all grade levels, in their career choices and how it enables them to continue their education and to attain their life goals.
Priority will be given to applications that emphasize career readiness in K-12.
Share your successes as an educator to inspire and renew other educators for the 2019-20 school year.
This application is a commitment that your team will present. It is a great idea to have a team presentation, that way, if one person has an emergency, the rest of the team will proceed with the presentation. The presentation time is 50 minutes and the presentation will be given twice during the day to approximately 35-40 participants each session.
Applications are due to vivian.franklin@niswongerfoundation.org by Monday,
April 22, 2019.
Please let us know if you have questions regarding the application or the symposium at the contact information below.
Thank you for your interest in the Niswonger Foundation Symposium. We look forward to hearing from you!
Sincerely,
Vivian Franklin

Supervision Schedule
- It is an expectation that you will be at your duty at the assigned day and time. This is happening for the vast majority of you, but we have noticed that this can be an issue from time to time. We will be watching this more closely and will send an email directly to the teacher who is not on duty. Please be aware that this will be documented toward your professionalism at the end of the year.
- When you are absent, we need you to make arrangements to have your duty covered. Subs should not be covering your duty. A suggestions was made to work it out in advance with a partner teacher to cover for each other and to notify with a quick text when you are out. Whatever you plan, you need to make sure you have the duty covered. This also applied to lunch and hall/bathroom duty. All locations are essential for supervision and we will be held liable if there is not coverage due to negligence and an incident happens in that area.
- Morning duty is 7:15-7:35. Please make morning plans so that you show up on time and plan to stay until 7:35 at your duty location. Afternoon duty is 2:45-3:05. On duty days, you will need to plan to have a quick exit out of your classroom to be at your duty location on time.
I have included links to our duty schedules below for your reference. They are also available in the JSMS shared drive. It is the work of all of us that contributes to making Sevier a great place to work and a safe place for our students to learn. Thank you all for all that you do!
