Term 4 - Week 7, 1st December 2022

Kia ora e te whānau

The end of the year is approaching fast. This time of year is filled with exciting events and of course our awards ceremonies.

Last Thursday our Kapa Haka rōpū made us all so proud when they performed at John Paul College in the Rotorua Central Kāhui Ako Schools Kapa Haka Ahurei. If you would like to come to assembly on Friday 2nd December you will be able to watch their performance. A huge thank you to our tutors, Tania Wheki and Jessie Heke for their work. Thank you also to Susan Swann-Eason for her support. We had a wonderful group of teachers and support staff who stayed at school on Thursday afternoon to get our tamariki prepared for their performance. Our lunch provider, Kapai Kai provided a nutritious dinner for our staff and students. Thank you for your generosity.

Our 2023 Young Leaders will be announced at the assembly on Friday this week as well.

Each team is having their fun days at school this year. This started on Wednesday when the Tihiōtonga team braved the weather and had a fun day. They were so lucky that the outdoor activities coincided with windows of fine weather. Congratulations to all of the students in the team who were able to take part in the whole day because their behaviour and worth ethic in the classroom and playground earnt them this opportunity.

We have a large team of students taking part in the CBOP Athletics competition today at the Rotorua Stadium. We wish them all the best and look forward to hearing the results from the day.

In Week 9 on Monday 12th December we will be celebrating the achievements of students in Pukehangi Team at the end of year awards ceremony. Tihiōtonga and Whakapoungakau Teams end of year awards ceremony will be on Wednesday 14th December.

Five Year Old New Entrant Pre–Enrolments

Glenholme School welcomes new arrivals to the school. Parents of students who live within the home zone and intend enrolling their child at any time during the year should notify the school to assist the school to plan appropriately for the next terms. We would like to encourage parents to contact Mrs Molly Norton (Deputy Principal) to confirm future student enrolments. To help determine future classroom placements, it is vital that the school has as much information as possible about future students. Enrolment forms are available at the school office or you can contact Mrs Norton Deputy Principal 348-1489 ext 203 or email Glenholme School.
