Who, When, and Why.....
What is biomass?
Biomass is organic matter used as fuel to supply power. It comes in many forms but each one performs the same way. Also it is a low carbon energy source that comes from plant materials like wood, corn, sugar cane, and grass. It can be burned to generate electricity heat.
How is it created?
The biofuel is taken to the power plant to be burned. The heat coming off of the fuel will spin a turbine creating electricity. Biomass contains stored energy because plants absorb energy from the sun.
Where is it Used?
Biomass is used and created all over our earth. It is transported for use of energy to those who need/use it. The main production occurs within the United States.
