Augmented Reality
Augmented Reality (AR) places virtual objects within our physical reality. Mr. DiSilvestro’s students took a "tour" of some world-famous bridges, and it looked as though these bridges were actually in the classroom! Students could walk around the virtual objects to see multiple viewpoints in 3D, a much richer experience for them than simply viewing a picture of a bridge. User-friendly Google Expeditions (AR) has a wide range of available content.

All About Me
In French class, Madame Clements has chosen to have her students create Google Sites for themselves. They are including writing, video recordings of themselves speaking French, photos, and more to personalize their work and to show all that they can do. In the coming years, students can add more to their sites as they continue to develop their language skills, building a sort of portfolio that captures their skill-level at a given point. Kids are enjoying getting to create something that is all about them!
Role Models
Mrs. Kosek proves that once you learn to use a new tech tool, you can incorporate it again and again! She first had her students create infographics using Piktochart for a short story project. More recently, she was able to use the tool in a different class after students read Tuesdays With Morrie. Students created personal projects about their role models that tied directly to the book. Some even shared their projects with their role models, making it a really meaningful experience.
