Weekly Update
August 27-31
Welcome Back!
Thank you for all of your hard work making back to school successful! I know it has been a long week, but you have all done a great job of being team players and sticking with it! I think we are in line for a great year and I look forward to sharing it with all of you!
I will be sending this weekly newsletter again this year. Please make sure you are reading it completely for any important reminders, updates, or information. My intent (starting next week) is to send it by 12:00 pm on Thursdays and post it by Thursday afternoon. If you would like to receive the email, please give your email address to Amanda.
Elementary Notifications and Upcoming Events
*Tuesday, August 28 is Chick-fil-A spirit night from 5:00-8:00 pm. The Chick-fil-A on Cooper and Bardin is participating again this year, so we will be having our spirit nights there. Encourage your students to attend, please.
*Friday, August 31 is college day. You may wear jeans with a college or university shirt. Please encourage students to wear their college or university gear as well.
*We will be closed Monday, September 3 for Labor Day. Enjoy a three day weekend (next weekend though - not this weekend)!
*Please remind students to stay still and respectful for the duration of the pledge. They should not be walking across the gym until we have completed the entire pledge; no one should be moving to leave the gym during that time either. There should not be any talking during announcements or the pledge either.
*I know you are all learning Alma and I definitely want to help you with that journey. Please email me any concerns or questions you have so we can look at it together.
*Once you have read the Smore completely, see Amanda for a treat.
Preschool, Pre-K and Afterschool
*Friday, August 31 is college day. You may wear jeans with a college or university shirt. Please encourage students to wear their college or university gear as well.
*We will be closed Monday, September 3 for Labor Day. Enjoy a three day weekend (next weekend though - not this weekend)!
*Please make sure you are keeping up with Tadpoles. All meals, naps, lessons, and other age-group specific information should be included and updated. Also, pictures need to be sent daily (at least the first by 12:00 pm) and should be purposeful.
*Please make sure you are double checking spelling and grammar on any items that go home. It is very easy to make a mistake, so it is best to have another set of eyes check things for you.
*Once you have read the Smore completely, see Amanda for a treat.
Weekly Emails
*It is a great idea to start sending positive emails as you are able. Just a simple note about a good deed or something positive sometimes makes a huge difference. A very wise teacher commented to me about "making deposits" in a parent's account - sending those good things so that you have a positive "balance" when you need to make a "withdrawal." Good ideas for all!!
