Blended learning returns on Monday as planned
Dear secondary school families,
Today Governor Walz announced new guidance for secondary schools and set a clear expectation that we begin to plan for the safe return of students to our schools for in-person learning. This new guidance includes specific expectations that schools implement the updated health, safety and mitigation strategies outlined in the Minnesota Safe Learning Plan. You can read the state’s announcement here.
Today’s news reinforced our current plan to welcome back middle school and high school students for blended (hybrid) learning on Monday, February 22. We will return to blended learning in our middle schools and high schools at up to 50% capacity next Monday as planned.
Over the next days we will be working to better understand the new secondary school guidance and updated requirements set forth in the Minnesota Safe Learning Plan. As we have a better understanding of what will be expected of us and what opportunities this may afford, we will be able to articulate specific next steps for moving forward towards in-person learning in our middle schools and high schools. Our intention is to provide a more detailed update regarding this planning and timeline by the end of next week.
In the meantime, we are excited to have our secondary students returning to our schools for blended learning on Monday. Thank you once again for your support and partnership as we continue to navigate the ever-changing expectations and conditions associated with the pandemic.
