Message From The Principal
Good afternoon Stoller families,
Fall is upon us and while I do love all the colorful changes around us, the rain does present different challenges this year. Students have been doing a great job at school given the circumstances.
Please go over our expectations and phone policy. Our main goal is to make sure phones are not disrupting the classroom nor creating an unsafe environment for students. Please make sure you read the section below regarding cell phones. Our cell phone policy is “off and away.” This means that phones are shut down completely and put away from bell to bell (9:15 - 3:50). If students need to contact home, they can come to the office and use the phone. Thank you for your cooperation with this.
Fall Conferences this year will look a little different. We will be doing Fall Family Check-ins to ensure that every student/family has an opportunity to connect with a teacher. This year, most students will meet with their Advisory teacher. In addition, there may be other teachers reaching out to families for a meeting to ensure students are receiving the support they need. Please read the section below that outlines Fall Family Check-ins and when to expect communication from teachers.
Thank you and have a wonderful weekend.
Important News
Fall Family Check-Ins
This year we will be having Fall Family Check-ins. This will be an opportunity for families to meet with their Advisory teacher. It is more of a wellness check to see how your student is doing so far. As a building we have prioritized student wellness and their social/emotional needs. It is important that there is a home-school connection, so that we are aware of anything that you may be seeing at home or may want the school to know about. Check your email on Monday for a ParentSquare message that will allow you to choose a time slot to meet with the Advisory teacher on Zoom.
Some families will be receiving separate emails today from one of their teachers. Please make sure you sign up for a time slot. We know you are busy and want to honor your time, this being said, you do not need to also sign up for a check-in with the Advisory teacher.

MATHCOUNTS
MATHCOUNTS is an annual series of competitions in which a team of Stoller students will participate in local, statewide, and national math contests against other schools. 12 students will be chosen to represent Stoller in these contests in the spring.
The first round of tryouts for the 2022 MATHCOUNTS team will be held remotely starting in mid-October. Students that perform well enough during the first round of tryouts will be selected to participate in additional tryout sessions through December.
Students participate in remote tryout sessions at home. The exam must be proctored by a responsible adult who is committed to ensuring that the exam is completed honorably and fairly. Please make sure to arrange a distraction-free setting with reliable internet access and adequate adult supervision.
Students or their parent/guardian may register for the first round of tryouts by submitting the form below. Please submit this form no later than October 17.
More information about accessing the digital exam will be sent to interested families the following week.
Any questions should be directed to Mr. Nelson.

Continued violation will be addressed on a case by case basis.
We appreciate your cooperation and support with this.
Student Water Bottles
Please send students with water bottles
Due to covid concerns, we are asking that students bring their own water bottle. There are sinks in every hall for students to refill them. Water fountains are not available for students.
