Help us keep CKS families in the loop!
Particularly during these times of extended eDays, our ability to communicate with parents is very important. From recent reports from faculty, it is apparent that we don't have both parents' email addresses on file in RenWeb for a number of families. To make sure both parents can fully participate in their child(ren)'s education, we would like you to update your RenWeb family record with all pertinent contact information. Luckily, this is easy to do.
Any parent with RenWeb access can use either the RenWeb Home app or the ParentsWeb portal (https://logins2.renweb.com/logins/ParentsWeb-Login.aspx) to update his/her family's demographic information, such as address, phone, and email information for a parent or student, but also emergency contact and authorized pickup information. Follow the instructions at the following link to use the CKS Family Demographic Web Form to make these sorts of updates:
https://ctkschool.net/download_file/1025/214
One thing to keep in mind: Whereas emergency contact information applies across all students in a multi-student family, student pickup ("transportation") information for each student is independent of that of the others in the same family, so for families with multiple students you should update the authorized pickup information separately for each student.
2020-2021 RE-ENROLLMENT
For the handful of families that have not already done so, please submit the 2020-21 online re-enrollment form for your children returning to Chris the King School in the fall. Since the extended deadline of March 20th has passed, a FACTS draw of your family re-enrollment fee has been scheduled for those who have not submitted that form or otherwise chosen via that form to pay the re-enrollment fee by check.
Christ the King School operates on continuous enrollment, meaning we presume your children will be re-enrolling from year-to-year through graduation, unless we hear affirmatively otherwise. The online re-enrollment form includes links to important documents, such as tuition, Aftercare, and EDP information; allows you to indicate your tuition payment and Aftercare/EDP choices; and records your choices. If your intent is for your child not to return in the fall, please contact Amy Smith at admissions@ckslex.org so that we can make admissions, staffing, and budgetary plans accurately; otherwise, please submit the online re-enrollment form as soon as possible.
Please direct any questions about FACTS account or re-enrollment fee matters to our business manager, David Stromquist, at dstromquist@ckslex.org.

Lexington Diocese Joins Other Bishops in Re-Consecrating Country to Mary
LEXINGTON — The bishops of the United States and Canada will pray to re-consecrate their countries to Mary, Mother of the Church, on Friday, May 1, at 3 p.m. Eastern. Every year, the Church prayerfully seeks the special assistance of Mary during the month of May. This year that prayer takes on deeper resonance in the face of a global pandemic.
“In this time of uncertainty and vulnerability, it is natural that we would seek the comfort of our Heavenly Mother. We honor Mary under many titles, and so many of our people have their favorite devotion to Mary. We can come together as a Church throughout the country and commit ourselves to doing God's will as she did and seeking her guidance and powerful intercession,” said Bishop John Stowe, OFM Conv., of Lexington.
The prayer of re-consecration is being led in the United States by Archbishop José Gomez of Los Angeles, president of the U.S. Conference of Catholic Bishops. Archbishop Gomez will lead a brief liturgy with the prayer of re-consecration, and has invited other bishops to join in from their respective dioceses. This event will be available online: https://lacatholics.org/consecration/

Web Etiquette and Filters
Parents,
Our teachers are working hard, with new resources during these unprecedented times. We are so blessed as a school community to have all the resources we do to make this work. At the beginning of each year, students spend time learning how to be good digital citizens. During the course of the year, teachers reinforce these expectations. They began establishing expectations for new online forums like FlipGrid, Google Hangouts, and Google Meet during the first days of remote instruction. Please partner with us in this endeavor to reinforce these expectations at home.
For students 6-8 using Chromebooks, the following filters are in place:
"Set Your House in Order" Bible Study
As parents we need a plan to provide for our children if something were to happen to us. This is not a topic we often think about about when we are young and healthy. One thing this pandemic has taught us is how little control we have over our lives. And yet God gives us the instructions and the tools to plan. Set Your House In Order is a bible study that leads you through how to take care of your family if something were to happen to you. It is a gift to do this pre-planning whether you are 30 or 73 years old.
Catholic on Purpose
Catholic on Purpose is a podcast exploring WHAT Catholics believe and HOW we can live it intentionally. Listen in as two former Protestants, Casey and Erin Phillips, attempt to bring Catholicism to bear on our everyday lives. It is high time to be Catholic on purpose! "Be who God meant you to be and you will set the world on fire.” -St. Catherine of Siena
Join us during Lent as we launch a 6 part series discussing the different aspects of building and cultivating the domestic church. Together we will focus on making our homes into places where prayer is natural and the faith is centerstage. Join us!
