1st Six Weeks*Reed & Mock Elementary School*2016-2017
Introducing The P.SJ.A. Reading Laureate Program
High School Degree = 100,000 words (1st Grade)
Associates Degree = 250,000 words (2nd Grade)
Bachelors Degree = 500,000 words (3rd Grade)
Masters Degree = 1,000,000 words (4th & 5th Grade)
Doctorates Degree = 2,000,000 words (Recognition T-Shirt given by District)
Degrees will be presented at each A.R. Celebration. To be eligible for the end of year Reading Laureate celebration students at each grade level must reach a specific level. See above for the grade level in parenthesis (). Students must have a minimum average of 85% to be recognized by the school, and a 90% minimum average to be recognized by the district.

We LOVE Storytime!
Reed-Mock's youngest students were able to enjoy a break from their daily routine to listen to a story. The Cat did a wonderful job reading to the children who giggled along with the humorous book. They all agreed that reading was important, but best of all, READING is FUN!

The best part is: the books have arrived! Come by our library to check them out, or even better read the eBook version available through our online catalog. QR code stations will be available soon to access books with your phones or tablets - all you need to do is to download a free QR code reader! Happy Reading!

Afterwards, students were able to sign up to participate in the Rio Reforestation initiative that took place the following Saturday. This librarian is happy to say that many Reed-Mock students, as well as staff, took part in this event!
