Classroom News!
What a beautiful week (and we're not just talking about the weather)! Highlights include:
- playing games to help us learn and remember the names and values of pennies, nickels and dimes
- playing the next level (three) of "What's in the Square?" Each child created their own game grid on a piece of paper with crayons.
- sequencing pictures after learning about seeds and how they grow.
- a visit from our reading buddies. We got a prompt, brainstormed ideas and then wrote a story.
- enjoying the expertise of Quinn who taught us a really fun card game called "Pig Ten" and Ryder who showed us his cool mini Lego structures!
Conversation Starters
* Which coin is worth five cents? One cent? Ten cents?
* When is the game of Chicken Cha Cha Cha over?
* What was in the treasure chest on Feather Island in the book Elmer and the Dragon?
Poem of the Week
Robin
Robin spied a chubby worm
and thought he'd have a snack.
But when he tried to tug that worm,
it rudely tugged him back.
The worm was strong and sturdy
and pulled him off his feet,
so robin thought he'd better find
a smaller worm to eat.
