  5. In the "Optional Comments" box, please specify if you will need an interpreter and if so, your preferred language for the interpreter;

  6. After completing the form, you will receive a confirmation email with a Zoom link for your conference.

*If you have any questions or need assistance signing up for a conference time, call Grant Wood Elementary, 319-688-1180.

With 2nd trimester classes starting on Tuesday, Dec. 8th, Monday would be an ideal day for families to pick up student materials from the school's office; if you have not yet done so.

As class rosters were updated for 2nd trimester, Seesaw and PowerSchool will not sync until Tuesday morning. Please keep this in mind if your child had a classroom teacher assignment change and if you have not been able to see your child's weekly schedule on Seesaw. The weekly schedule will appear for your child's viewing and yours on Tuesday, Dec. 8th.

In some cases, it will occur even for those who did not select a change in either the standard enrollment or online learning model options.... This change will become effective on December 8, 2020.

Ms. Maria (Principal) awards PBIS points via ClassDojo

Ms. Martin (Principal) looks to award ClassDojo (i.e. PBIS) points to students which they can then redeem. Points can be earned for:

  • school engagement by participating in class zooms,
  • posting work on Seesaw,
  • completing lessons on Dreambox, and
  • completing lessons on Lexia....as well as,
  • for reports from parents about students making safe choices and exhibiting kindness.

Ms. Martin also welcome feedback, suggestions, and discussion ideas regarding what students would like to have as options for their ClassDojo points.

Please email me at: martin.maria@iowacityschools.org

I shall share your ideas with our Student Leadership Team and teaching staff to determine which ideas we can pursue.

Dreambox - Math

DreamBox’s minimum recommended usage is more than 5 lessons per week. Historical analyses show that students completing 5 or more lessons per week grew significantly more than their peers who were completing only 2-5 lessons per week.
