March 2022 Update

Hello March!

Hello Lanesville Families!

It seems like yesterday we were all nervous and excited to start the 2021-22 school year and now we are fast approaching spring break! Before we know it we will be sending out our last newsletter for the 2021-22 school year. This year has flown by! We are so thankful and appreciative of all of our families. You all have done an amazing job with helping us keep up with all of the changes that have occurred the last two years. We would not be able to do what we do without your help and support. Thank you!

3rd Grade IREAD

3rd Grade made shirts for IREAD with all 3rd grade students signatures as well as several teachers and staff members in our building! We are so excited for our 3rd grade students to ROCK THAT TEST!

Using Elements of Art to Communicate

Visiting artist, Kris Hurst, from Arts for Learning Indiana introduced using elements of art to communicate with our Kindergartners, First graders, Second Graders and high school’s Intro to Art classes. Students were given the task to describe a painting or photograph using elements of art; including color words, geometric shapes and proportions. Our students did great in relaying necessary information to create a duplicate of the art work on their own.

Ms. Hurst’s workshop was funded by our Indiana Art Commission grant, which is generously matched by the Harrison County Community Foundation.

Congratulations to our Math Bowl Team!

Our Lanesville Math Bowl team competed in the Lanesville Math Bowl Invitational on Wednesday, March 2nd. They won the contest by correctly answering 21 of the 32 questions! Other elementary schools competing were: Corydon Intermediate, New Middletown, and South Central.
