Bailey's Bulletin
Parents,
It has been a fantastic week! Our student leaders never cease to amaze me, but this week was full of proud principal moments. The things I got to be part of this week:
Students working together to raise an incredible amount of money for March of Dimes. I heard many students say, "It's for the sick babies." I love their hearts. I am certain they had their sights set on extra recess fun with silly string too, but the fact that they can express why it is important to support an organization that supports our community makes all the difference. They are here to make a difference and THEY DID! We have raised over $1,100 in 18 days. WOW, thank you!
While celebrating our volunteers, I witnessed our TIger Beat Choir sing with a grateful heart that was full of love for the people in the room. Students were stepping out of their comfort zone to perform solos, dance moves, and play ukuleles. The student talent that lies within these walls can only be called amazing!
Speaking of talent, I witnessed some outstanding students performing with other elementary, middle, and high school students at the Johnson High School Strings Event. I am so proud of our Strings students and their choice to learn, practice, and perfect their craft with musical instruments.
These were all Proud Principal moments this week for me, and I know there are always many more occurring each day. Stay connected by following us on social media. The links are posted above for your convenience.
We have NO SCHOOL scheduled for Friday, April 26th for Battle of the Flowers. We have lots of activities scheduled this week: Eat for Cause Chickfila, North East Educational Foundation Board visits our STEAM Lab, Pencilmania, First Grade Fiesta Float Parade, and more. Thank you for sharing your wonderful children with us! They are the heartbeat of our school.
Proud Principal,
Tara Bailey

National Therapy Animal Day
In honor of National Therapy Animal Day, we are joining thousands of bakers from all over the country who are breaking out their mixing bowls and whipping up some treats for our animal friends. Treats & Sweets Day is the yummiest fundraising event of the year! I’m taking my knack for baking and putting it to good use to support Pet Partners, and I need your help!
Come by our Treats & Sweets sale to grab some tasty homemade items, make a donation, or make an online gift to our Treats & Sweets efforts. Thank you for making the world a whole lot sweeter!
We are looking for student bakers to make homemade dog or cat treats, speakers to advertise our event on the announcements, and volunteers for our table in the rotunda.
We will be passing out bags of treats for a donation on Tuesday, 4/30 before school in the rotunda.
See Mrs. Holeman if you are interested in helping out this year!
Parent Survey (Classes/Workshops for Parents)
In an on-going effort to grow our family engagement opportunities, we have created a Qualtrics survey to get feedback on what classes/workshops parents would like to attend for the 2019-2020 school year as well as what days/times are good for them. This is a similar electronic questionnaire to last year’s survey.
