Flat Stanleys
Many of our Flat Stanleys have made it back from their travels. The kids are enjoying sharing and learning about the adventures that were had. This week, we have seen and heard about Minnesota, Pennsylvania, Florida, Missouri, Texas, and Mexico. It has been fun to compare and contrast these places with central Indiana!
Dakota is sharing about her Flat Stanley's travels to Allentown, PA.
Kanyonrae is sharing about her Flat Stanley's travels to Waco, TX!
Look What We're Learning!
Math: We jumped into Unit 5 where we are learning all about place value into the millions. The students have done well with comparing and ordering large numbers.
Inquiry: Sharing and mapping our Flat Stanleys' adventures
Writing: Publishing our research reports on world destinations
Reading: We are learning about the different structures an author uses to build a nonfiction text.(Description, Compare and Contrast, Problem and Solution, Cause and Effect, and Sequence) Knowing and understanding these structures will aid in comprehension a great deal!
Here are all of our Flat Stanley's getting ready to be mailed!
Tristan, Thomas and Will are practicing place value to the millions by playing a game of strategy, called Name That Number!
Marissa is placing her name on the big map to show where her Flat Stanley traveled!
