Lipan Apache

Lipan Apache lived in the Great Plains when they first came to Texas. Lipans lived in wickups and tepees, they used the coats of the animals they hunted for their shelter.

Hunting and Weapons

The Lipan hunted bison, deer, buffalo, and traded for some corn and other crops.The main weapon used were bows and arrows and occasionally spears at war.

Religions and Traditions

Their religion revolved around -peyotism, and lots of traditions involved storytelling, music, and also things like clothing and jewelry. Only men could be leaders or apart of government.


Now the Lipan Apaches live on reservations in New Mexico.
