What is the difference between magma and lava?

Well magma is the name for lava but in the ground and lava is lava but above ground.

what happens to the gases in a volcano?

The gases such as carbon dioxide and sulfur dioxide get released into the air and they contribute to acid rain and acidic lakes/rivers.


Where does ash come from?

Ash comes from little bits of rock smoldering and being shot out a volcano like a camp fire.
