Principal's Pen
The official end date for the 2019-2020 school year is almost here. If you are experiencing anything like me, each week is getting a little more challenging. I want to encourage you to just relax and do what you can at home with your children. There is no one who understands better than teachers how difficult the last two weeks of school are. That is why if we were in the school building at this time, we would be doing lots of activities and taking our class field trips. Now you know first hand exactly why we try to schedule field trips at the end of the year! :) Do not stress about getting work accomplished during this time. The teachers will be flexible and understanding!
Next week, starting June 2nd, you will be able to drop chrome books and school books off at school. Mrs. Steinbrecher or I will be in the office during the following hours.
Tuesday, June 2: 11:00 a.m. - 6:00 p.m.
Wednesday, June 3: 11:00 - 2:00 p.m.
Thursday, June 4: 11:00 a.m. - 6:00 p.m.
We would like all school items returned by June 12th. That gives us time to take inventory of everything and start preparing for next year.
We have t-shirts at the office for all students. These are the t-shirts you provided the sizes for earlier in the year. These t-shirts were generously donated by one of our families, so there is no cost for them. Please stop in the school some time this week to pick them up. They are our way of introducing our new mascot - the Bishop Baraga Trekker! The 8th graders do not need to pick them up. They will be delivered to their homes. Office hours this week are:
Tuesday, May 26: 11:00 a.m. - 6:00 p.m.
Wednesday, May 27: 11:a.m. - 2:00 p.m.
Thursday of this week we will be having a special event for our 8th graders. The staff will be meeting at the school at 12:00 p.m. to start a little parade to visit each of our 8th graders' homes. We want to celebrate what would have been their graduation day. Anyone is welcome to join us. Just meet us at the school at noon. Everyone can remain in their cars so that we maintain social distancing.
We are also having a special zoom event on Thursday evening at 6:00 p.m. The whole school family is invited to join us. It will probably be a little chaotic, but we do have a schedule for this event. Some of the 8th graders will be speaking about our new mascot. We will be having a drawing. Three families who attend will be given a prize. Last we will have a special slideshow to remember our amazing year. Please join us and wear your new Bishop Baraga Trekker shirt! The link to this meeting is below. I will send out a reminder that day as well.

Below I am putting a link to a school survey regarding this time of distance learning. If you did not get a chance to complete this survey last week, please do so now. We would appreciate your feedback.
Have a wonderful week!
God bless,
