GENESIS PARENT PORTAL/FREE & REDUCED LUNCH APPLICATIONS
Children need healthy meals to learn. The Manville School District offers healthy meals every school day, and some children may qualify for free or reduced-price meals. The National School Lunch Program is a federally assisted meal program that provides nutritionally balanced, reduced-cost or free breakfast and lunch to children each school day.
In the 2023-2024 school year, the federal government is providing no-cost meals to those qualifying for Reduced priced meal benefits, in addition to those who qualify for Free. Children may qualify for the Free and Reduced-Price Meal Program (F&R) based on USDA federal guidelines for household income and size. If your household size or income exceeds the federal limit, there is also a New Jersey Expanded Income Eligibility (NJEIE) guideline for the 2023-2024 School Year, which if you meet, will make you eligible for Free meals (there is no Reduced category). Please view this income eligibility chart for both the federal and state.
We encourage all households to complete an application, even if you believe you may not qualify, as the information obtained may be used for other statistical evaluations and grant opportunities that may benefit the school district. Please note that applications are accepted for the current school year only.
To access the lunch application, log into the Genesis Parent Portal. Navigate to the ‘Forms’ tab. There will be an ‘Online Free and Reduced Lunch Application in the Forms Library. Click ‘Apply’ to start an application and follow the submission steps. For questions and assistance regarding the Lunch Application Process, please contact Jamie Chaya in the Business office at 908-231-8500 x 8503 or jchaya@manvillesd.org.
