Whole School Mass/General Assembly
Dear Parents, Grandparents and Caregivers in the OLC Community,
As we approach the last week of Term 4, I thank you for your support this term. It has proceeded successfully, and we give thanks for the normality which has prevailed at our school.
Learning Journey
Congratulations to our fantastic students who led their parents through their learning journey. The Learning Journey process was an opportunity for the children to share with parents their strengths, habits, relationships in their learning and emotional resilience to learn. Thank you, parents, for making this a priority and to the amazing teaching staff for their time and energy that goes into the preparation for the Learning Journey.
First Reconciliation Celebration
Last Saturday evening our Year 3 students attended mass to give thanksgiving for their First Reconciliation. It was a beautiful mass with our Year 6 students leading the singing and the Year 3 students providing an excellent dramatization of the Good Samaritan gospel. We express our appreciation to Fr Ian, Mrs Amie Meyer, Miss Holly Lombardi, Mrs Serena O’Brien and Mrs Paula Murphy for preparing our students for the mass. We also express our gratitude to the staff who supported the students and their families by their attendance at this mass.
Rat Collection
Parents and caregivers are reminded to come to the office to collect your children’s allocation of RATs. We have a very large supply of these which are difficult to store and manage, therefore we ask that you collect these as soon as possible.
Enrolments for 2023
As we are in the process of preparing for next year's enrolments, it is now time to advise the office if you are intending for your child to attend Kindy next year.
If your child is leaving us at the end of this year (with the exception of Year 6). We do require notification in writing and where your child/children will be attending next year. Please hand your letters into the office as a term's notice is required.
School Uniforms Term 4
This coming week would be a good time to prepare for the change of school uniform, as next term the students wear their summer uniform. The first two weeks are a transition time from winter to summer uniforms, depending on the weather, your child may wear either winter or summer uniform. The Uniform Shop is open on Wednesday from 8.20am - 8.50am for uniform fittings if you are purchasing a new uniform.
School Faction Carnival
Congratulations to Mrs Sinclair for organising a highly successful carnival. It was a pleasure to see the students actively supporting one another as they achieved their personal best and had a rewarding day. We thank our Year 6 Sporting Captains and staff for assisting on the day.
Well done to the P & F for their wonderful catering on the day.

OLC’s Got Talent
Thank you to Mrs Jane King for co-ordinating OLC’s Got Talent and to the students who are performing. We look forward to watching the many varied acts next Friday.
Public Holiday
As you may be aware, the Prime Minister, Anthony Albanese, made the announcement that a “one-off public holiday” would be held on Thursday 22 September as a National Day of Mourning. This date will therefore be a holiday for staff and students at our school.
End of Term 3
The official last day of term for our students and staff is Friday 23rd September.
I wish all members of our school community an enjoyable break these holidays and look forward to your safe return to school on Monday 10th October.
