Dear Cougar Families -

I hope you all have been enjoying this beautiful, warm weather. I can't believe we are finishing up our fourth full week of school! It is really flying by but we are happy to be in school doing all of the fun things we love! There is a lot of important information in this Update - please read through until the end.


Please join us for our first PTA meeting of the 2021-2022 school year! It is Tuesday, September 21st at 7pm in the CHES Cafeteria. Agenda will be posted on the PTA Facebook site Friday, September 18th. We have lots of fun things coming soon. Please wear a mask and we hope to see you there! Note - we are suspending childcare during PTA meetings & events until further notice. Thank you for your understanding!

New Family Orientation - Tuesday September 21st - 6:15 - 7:00 in the CHES Cafeteria. Calling all new CHES families! Join the PTA Tuesday evening at 6:15 in the cafeteria to get all your questions answered. From navigating the building to navigating Infinite Campus, we've been there and know it can be overwhelming. We look forward to welcoming you to the Cougar family. (Feel free to stay for the monthly PTA meeting that starts right afterwards from 7:00 to 8:00 p.m.)

CHES 9th Annual Walk-A-Thon - September 22, 2021

Students will walk a minimum of 1 mile during their related arts at South Field.

Wear your Walk-A-Thon t-shirts provided by Mullen-Hawkins!

Help raise money for PTA projects (projects that are supported have included the outdoor classroom, teacher grants, technology items, etc..)

A donation envelope and forms are coming home. Please return the envelope and money collected to their teacher by October 4, 2021.

Please be with your children as they ask friends, and family for donations. Donations are made upfront: *Cash *Check (payable to Colonial Hills PTA) * Online at

Would you like to make $150** to $165* per day working with students?

Worthington would love to have you as a Guest Teacher (substitute) in our district!

Worthington Teacher Substitutes are hired through the Educational Service Center of Central Ohio (ESCCO) via an online application system. You will need current BCI/FBI background checks (can be done in the Worthington HR office) and you will need to apply for a Substitute License through the Ohio Department of Education. Worthington personnel will assist you in this process to assure a smooth and timely activation with the ESCCO.

*Worthington has opportunities for “Permanent Guest Teachers” (PGT’s) who are committed to working Monday through Friday when school is in session. PGT’s are paid $165 per day and guaranteed a substitute assignment each day. The HR office will place you throughout the district to cover for an absence or as an “extra” in a building if all absences are covered. Must be flexible and open to all classrooms and schools.

** Can’t commit to every school day? That works for us, too! “Daily” substitutes work as needed and select their own assignment (school/grade level/subject) and are paid $150 per day.
