Breakout Boxes come to Portage High School
Our Portage High School freshmen and sophomores participated in Breakout Box activities with media specialist Mr. Horn! Similar to an escape room, the games requires students to use clues and teamwork to unlock a series of locks on the breakout box. The clues, puzzles, and riddles are connected to a piece of literature the students are reading.
Mr. Horn has done an outstanding job organizing and creating content specific to our curriculum. The students have really enjoyed the challenge and collaboration!

Saylor Saybotz share their love of robotics
Our Saylor Elementary Say-Botz are pretty awesome, and they want to share their skills with the rest of their school!
Students in Mrs. Sopko’s fourth grade class have been hard at work in the Innovative Learning Lab putting together a bot that everyone can use. This takes some serious time, dedication and teamwork from these students; look at all of those parts that must be put together, not to mention wiring and programming the bot to do what it needs to do!
Great job to Mrs. Sopko’s students on working together on this project so everyone at Saylor can try out robotics!

Kyle's Asset Building Club teaches students about kindness
Kyle's ABC Club (Asset Building Club) learned about kindness by being a bucket filler this week!
The students read a story about the importance of giving, sharing, and caring. They then brainstormed ways to be a “bucket filler” and how showing kindness to others can make them feel good about themselves, too. They created A to Z Bucket Filling posters so everyone in the school can learn how to be kind and helpful. We’re so proud of our students for learning how to make their school a caring place!
